Enjoy Jamboree in the Hills Responsibly This Year

It is an annual tradition for many residents in the Ohio Valley and beyond that dates back to 1977. Every July, nearly 100,000 country music fans from across the country gather together in the rolling hills of Morristown, Ohio for a four day outdoor country music festival known as Jamboree in the Hills (JITH).

When enjoyed responsibly, JITH can be a wonderful time and memorable experience full of friends, laughs, and great music. This year should be no different with a lineup including Jason Aldean, The Charlie Daniels Band, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Neal McCoy, Eli Young Band, and Rascal Flatts. But there's a reason JITH is called "Country Music's Biggest Party of the Summer" as many concert goers like to enjoy their music with a few cold beverages. There is nothing wrong with consuming alcoholic beverages at JITH if you are of legal age. However, if you decide to consume alcohol, please do the responsible thing and get a designated driver. Our Wheeling and St. Clairsville, Ohio Drunk Driving Accident Attorneys have represented far too many victims of drunk driving accidents over the past 30 years. Through this representation, we have seen firsthand the devastation that drunk driving can cause to individuals and families of those injured or killed in a drunk driving accident.

If you decide to drink this weekend, please keep in mind the following alarming facts before you get behind the wheel:

  • Nearly one person is killed every half hour due to drunk driving
  • There are approximately 16,000 fatalities each year as a result of drunk driving accidents
  • Alcohol is a factor in nearly half of all traffic car accident fatalities
  • Every other minute a person is seriously injured in an alcohol related car accident

For all of those attending JITH, we hope you have a great time. Please remember to be responsible and don't drink and drive. The risks and harms are too great to take a chance.
