Two lawsuits have been filed by Fitzsimmons Law Firm on behalf of workers who were burned and injured in a June 7, 2010, gas drilling explosion at the Witzgall #2 gas well site in Moundsville, West Virginia. According to the Complaint, the Defendants permitted the crew to trip out the well hole despite knowing that methane gas was flowing out of the well and onto the rig floor. At approximately 1:18 a.m. on June 7, 2010, the methane gas ignited triggering a massive fire and explosion with flames over 70 feet high and resulting in a total loss to the drilling rig and surrounding structures. 7 workers were burned and injured in the explosion and fire which lasted for nearly 5 days. The cases are pending in the Circuit Court of Marshall County, West Virginia against Defendants AB Resources PA, LLC; Chief Oil and Gas, LLC; SEDCO Consulting, LLC; Union Drilling, Inc.; and BJ Services Company.
